KANOWIT: The first phase of flood mitigation and vehicle parking project at Nanga Ngemah Market is now completed.
In a news report by the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS), Ngemah assemblyman Anyi Jana said the project was built under the Rural Transformation Project (RTP) programme with a budget of RM200,000.
As for the second phase of the project, Anyi said the construction will commence this year after getting approval from the Economic Planning Unit (EPU).
“With the completion of the construction of the Phase 2 project, it will certainly provide comfort to visitors to the Nanga Ngemah Market,” he said when officiating at the Chap Goh Mei celebration and the launching of the completion of flood mitigation project and vehicle parking, recently.
On issues arising such as connection of electricity and construction of fences around the Nanga Ngemah Multipurpose Hall, Anyi assured that the matter is being given due attention and the project application will be evaluated.
In another development, he also called on parents to give attention and support to their children who are still studying.
He added the Ngemah Service Centre provides academic incentives that are channeled on a one-off basis.
