BAU: Construction of the first phase of Tasik Biru Resort City will commence soon, said Tasik Biru assemblyman Datuk Henry Harry Jinep.
The implementation of the project is possible because it is located on state landm he pointed out.
“Other development projects are not on state land because they fall under the mining lease.
“Therefore, we have to wait for the lease to reach expiry date or see how the government would review the mining lease so that we can proceed with our development plans.
“This is the way forward for Tasik Biru,” he told reporters after the Bau Bicentennial Celebration (BBC) 2020 held next to the Tasik Biru Lake here today.
Henry further explained that the ‘Greater Bau’ was not only meant for Tasik Biru or his state constituency alone but rather the whole area of Bau District stretching from Kampung Lidah Tanah (under Batu Kitang constituency), Siniawan (under Serembu constituency), Tasik Biru, Tondong, Buso, Krokong, Pangkalan Tebang, Gumbang, Serikin, Jagoi, Singai and “almost everywhere else.”
“We need to decentralise. That is why we call it the Greater Bau. The development is not only concentrated in the town itself but is present everywhere so that all the whole people in Bau including Chinese, Bidayuh and Malay, will enjoy it,” he added.
