KUCHING: Kampung Semariang Batu Zone 9 KRT Chairman, Abang Julaihi Abang Tengah said the Aidiladha celebration was the first time held in their village.
During the celebration, three cows were slaughtered at the village yesterday. Present to grace the celebration were former Head of State, Tun Datuk Patinggi Abang Muhammad Salahuddin Abang Barieng and his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Norkiah.
The beef were later distributed to 29 needy in Zone 8 and Zone 9 of Kampung Semariang Batu.
Salahuddin and his wife donated two cows while Minister of Works, Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof donated one.
Abang Julaihi hoped the donors would continue to list Zone 9 as beneficiaries in the coming celebration.
He also appealed to Fadillah to find a piece of land for them to build a community hall for the village.
