KUCHING: A total of 34 fishermen from Kampung Paya Mebi received assistance from the Social and Welfare Bureau of Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Kampung Paya Mebi on Sunday (May 9).
The ‘Kasih Ramadan’ donation, in the form of basic necessities, was presented by Kampung Paya Mebi PBB Social and Welfare Bureau chairman Shamsudin Unai at the Lubok Buaya jetty here.
“This contribution will help ease the burden of the fishermen in conjunction with the month of Ramadan and the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration,” said Shamsudin.
He added that this is an annual charity programme held by the Kampung Paya Mebi PBB Social and Welfare Bureau during Ramadan to alleviate the burden of the needy and less fortunate.
