MUKAH: A fishing community programme will be held at the Prawn Square of the riverfront of Mukah Old Town on June 19.
Dubbed as Programmr Engagement with the fishing community, the event is organised by Marine Fishery Department of Sarawak (MFDS).
Among the activities of the event include the presentation of assistance to those related to the marine rearing activities and the releasing of fish fries into Batang Mukah.
According to Mukah District Fishery Head, Muhamad Idham Bin Legiman, the programme is to commence with the registration of the participants at about 8.00am.
“At 8.30am there will be the briefing on Licencing by MFDS Deputy Director, Liza Bt Long, and then on Aquaculture by MFDS Aquaculture Branch Head, Haliza Bt Haji Sulaiman,” he said.
Fishery of Malaysia Director-General, Dato’ Haji Munir Bin Haji Nawi is expected to officiate at the function.
