MUKAH: The district-level celebration of the 214th Police Day here on Thursday (March 25) was a memorable occasion for Sgt Japsah Hasim and her four colleagues when they received their promotions.
Also promoted were Sgt Kenbell Lading, Sgt Etat Lunsa, Sgt Abdul Fahdillah Abdul Latip and Sgt Muhd Adam Hafiy Abdullah, who were promoted from the rank of Corporal.
Mukah OCPD DSP Jimmy Panyau also presented certificates of appreciation to 12 other members of the force for their performance and contribution.
For Sgt Japsah, who is attached to the Special Branch, the promotion came with a transfer to a new station.
“Following the promotion, I will be transferred to Pahang,” she told the media after the event.
Sgt Japsah hoped that if there was a vacancy in Sarawak pending her transfer to Pahang, she would consider applying for the position.
The media-friendly Sergeant has been with the district police force for over five years, and as a simple gesture of friendship and appreciation, she invited members of the media for a group photo.
