MIRI: Five people were injured following a two-vehicle collision at KM864, Jalan Pan Borneo Bintulu-Miri, Ladang 3, on Monday (April 8) evening.
According to the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre, the collision involved two four-wheel-drive (4WD) vehicles.
Preliminary investigation found that the collision occurred when one of the vehicles suddenly emerged from a junction, catching the other vehicle off guard.
Firefighters from Batu Niah Bomba led by its chief Rary Binjie, received a distress call at 5.40pm, urgently requesting assistance at the collision site to aid the victims trapped in their vehicles.
All injured victims, ranging in age from 27 to 66 years old, were safely extricated from the vehicles and promptly transferred to the Suai and Bekenu health clinics for further medical evaluation and treatment.
