KUCHING: Five new Person Under Investigation (PUI) cases of Covid-19 were recorded here yesterday.

According to the State Management Disaster Committee, all five cases, involving only Malaysians, were reported at Sarawak General Hospital.

To date, Sarawak has a cumulative total of 97 PUI cases since Jan 10. The majority at 74 cases are Malaysians, 20 Chinese nationals and one Thai, one Indonesian, and one Canadian.

However, 92 had tested negative and only five are still awaiting laboratory testing results.

As of noon Feb 17, the Health Department had screened 6,820 arrivals at various airports, land, and sea entry points bringing the number to 119,531 since Feb 1.
