Five Serian villages receive RM10,000 for projects, activities

KUCHING: Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Deputy Minister Chong Chieng Jen has given allocations totalling RM10,000 to five villages in Serian for various minor projects and activities.

Cheques for the allocations were handed over on behalf of Chong by Edward Andrew Luwak, chairman of Democratic Action Party, Serian branch, at a simple ceremony held at the DAP Service Centre in Serian Town.

Edward advised the recipients to use the allocations wisely for the benefit of the community.

He added that every sen of the allocation spent should be of value to the community.

“Do what you do, little it may be, do it well”, he said.

The beneficiaries of the allocations were Kampung Koran Mawang (for the repair of the gravity water supply pipes), Kampung Paun Gahat Adventist Church (for the supply of new benches), Kampung Bentang (for the celebration of successful harvest), Kampung Koran Plaman (for its pre-Gawai celebration) and Kampung Mentung Baing (for its Gawai celebration) on June 1, 2019.
