BELAGA, BINTULU: The floodwaters in Belaga and its surrounding areas including Data Kakus have subsided.

According to a statement by Bomba Sarawak yesterday, this was based on an aerial check carried out by Bomba zone 6 and zone 5 chiefs, PgKB I Supt Law Poh Kiong and PgKB II Unjar Lum,  accompanied by Bintulu fire station chief TPgB Christus Buson.

The aerial check conducted by the team using a helicopter (AW189 callsign BMB 09), which took off from its Miri air base, also showed that no villages or longhouses were inundated.

On Tuesday morning, it was reported that Punan Ba, a village in Belaga, was flooded following non-stop rain since Monday and a rise in the water level of Batang Rajang.
