KAPIT: Several mothers were seen shedding tears of joy upon being given flowers, hugs, and kisses by their children after Mother’s Day Mass at St Mary’s Immaculate Conception Church here.

The congregation of some 1,000 members also used the occasion to celebrate the World Nurses Day.

Presiding over the Mass last Sunday was the parish priest Father Philip Obaso who said the church recognised the vital roles of mothers in their families.

He also called on children to have full respect for their parents and to show them love and care.

“Mothers are special. Their endless love and care made us into what we are today. We never know how important our mothers are until they are no longer with us,” he said.

“Children also need to show their love and care for their fathers who are their bread winners. When you go home after this, express your love and affection to your parents.”
