JULAU: MP Datuk Larry Sng said the Jalur Gemilang and the state flag should be flown at premises including housing areas and longhouses in conjunction with the National Month and Malaysia Day celebrations to reflect love of the country.
“Efforts to cultivate the spirit of patriotism must be carried out continuously,” he said at the Merdeka @ Parliament programme at Rumah Trisy, Nanga Slaut Tengah on Saturday (Sept 10).
“The spirit of a strong Malaysian family should be embraced by all levels of society and (in) our efforts to improving life, especially in facing the challenges of the global economy,” he said.
At the event Sng handed over the Jalur Gemilang to the community of Julau and Pakan Districts.
In addition, a national quiz was also held to install a spirit of patriotism and nationalism.
