MIRI: Telang Usan assemblyman Dennis Ngau is seeking kind donors to help his constituents in need of food aid.
He said many families, especially those who were daily paid workers, had called his service centre asking for help.
He noted that most of these families had not received any food aid at all while some did receive aid when the movement control order (MCO) was implemented from March 18 – but due to the large number of family members, the aid could not be sustained.
Dennis thanked several anonymous Good Samaritans for donating to the cause.
He urged those blessed with good income and had the means, to come forward to help the underprivileged.
He revealed that his office and team still need to assist many more families in and around Miri after helping more than 200 families thus far.
“In fact our office received more than 500 requests from families for food aid. Their names have been forwarded to the Miri Welfare Department for further action,” he disclosed.
