BETONG: Deputy Chief Minister and Bukit Saban assemblyman Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas today (Sept 1) contributed food aid to the residents of Rumah Lanyau Jembu, Linsum, Layar who are currently undergoing the enhanced movement control order (EMCO).
The Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) said the aid was handed over by Bukit Saban Constituency Service Centre through the Betong Divisional Disaster Management Committee (DDMC) to the 22 families at the longhouse.
The food aid was an addition to what has been channelled by Betong DDMC through the Social Welfare Department Betong division.
Meanwhile, Tuai Rumah Lanyau on behalf of the longhouse resident, expressed his gratitude to Uggah for his concern in providing the contribution for those affected by the EMCO.
The longhouse residents are undergoing the EMCO for 14 days — from Aug 26 until Sept 8 — in order to carry out active case detection.
