KOTA SAMARAHAN: The Sarawak Food & Cultural Festival (SFCF) provides a venue for local businesses to advertise and market their products, as well as promote local culture.
Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development Datuk Rubiah Wang said such festival is an opportunity for local entrepreneurs to sell their products while displaying the culture of the local community to the world.
“We are all certain that activities like this will undoubtedly help grow the local economy, and we will be the ones who profit the most,” Rubiah said.
She said this during her speech at the Sarawak Food & Cultural Festival’s closing ceremony on Friday (Dec 16) at a shopping mall here.
Meanwhile, she said it is crucial that the local community are involved in the festival as it would be meaningless without their participation.
She said such event can indirectly sustain the connections of fellowship and good relations with one another.
Meanwhile, Rubiah who is Kota Samarahan MP said the town will continue to be transformed and benefit from growth through strengthening commercial operations, the tourism industry, and services.
Also present at the event was Kota Samarahan Municipal Council Chairman Datuk Peter Minos, and SFCF 2022 organising chairperson Dr Florince Christy.
