KOTA SAMARAHAN: A more conducive environment at the re-purposed Uni Garden Kota Samarahan City Council (MPKS) Food Court is likely to encourage residents to dine there.

A total of 32 hawkers received keys to operate stalls at the food court here on Saturday (Jan 15).

Stakan assemblyman Datuk Hamzah Brahim said he was grateful that the council had provided for hawkers or entrepreneurs doing business in the area.

“Previously, this place was developed for night market hawkers but it was found more suitable to be used as a food court.

“They are in a better, safer and organised place, thus making it easier for vendors to run their businesses than before ,” he said after a symbolic key handing over ceremony.

In addition, Hamzah with such business concept, residents would be more attracted to come and dine in.

“It will also promote business opportunities to all vendors and hawkers in this area,” he said.

Hamzah was accompanied by MPKS chairman Datuk Peter Minos, MPKS council member Datuk Sim Kiang Chiok, MPKS Food Court chairman Noor Suhaili Abdullah and other representatives.
