BALINGIAN: Prize money totalling RM6,000 awaits winners of a nine-a-side football championship Balingian Constituency Trophy to be held here from Sept 14-16.
The competition will be held at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Parish field and Balingian Mini Stadium.
The three-day competition is organised by Mukah Division Football Association in collaboration with Press Metal Sarawak Sdn Bhd and Balingian Youth.
According to the organiser, the competition is open to any teams from Sarawak, but is limited to 32 teams and will be played based on group league system.
The winning team will receive RM3,500, first runner-up RM1,500, and second runner-up RM800 plus trophy and medals respectively.
The top scorer in the tournament will get RM100, while the best player in the final will take home RM100.
Balingian assemblyman Abdul Yakub Arbi is expected to officiate at the closing of the competition on Sept 16.
