KUCHING: A local football player died yesterday after collapsing on the field during a game session at the Padang C, Petra Jaya.
The victim known as Tino collapsed just after 5pm and went unconscious.
He was then revived shortly after by his teammates who performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on him and later rushed to Sarawak General Hospital in an ambulance.
He was warded at the Red Zone and was pronounced dead at 7.30 pm.
It is believed that the victim had died of cardiac arrest.
Police are investigating the case.
