KUCHING: The Magistrate’s Court here on Thursday (Oct 1) fined a Vietnamese woman RM3,000 for soliciting for the purpose of prostitution in default five months’ imprisonment.
Magistrate Zaiton Anuar read the sentence to Tran Thi Thuy An, 35, under Section 372B of the Penal Code which carries a jail term of one year or a fine, or both, upon conviction.
According to the facts of the case, the accused committed the offence at a massage room at Lorong Ang Cheng Ho on Sept 20.
A police team from Kuching district headquarters (IPD) caught the accused committing the immoral activity during a raid.
Also seized by police at the raid scene was one unit of condom and cash amounting to RM250.
