Foreigner found dead in workers’ quarters

KUCHING: A foreign worker was found dead in a workers’ quarters at Demak Laut yesterday (Feb 18).

Kuching police chief ACP Ahsmon Bajah when contacted, confirmed that the police received information on the incident around 3.25 pm.

“The victim is a 39-year-old man from Indonesia. The case is being classified as sudden death,” he said.

The body was taken to the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) for a post-mortem.

Earlier, firefighters from Tabuan Jaya station were dispatched to the scene after they received a call from the police for assistance to open the door.

Upon arrival, the team forcefully opened the door of the quarters and they found the deceased in between two bunk beds.

No other operation was conducted at the request of the police.
