BINTULU: Two foreigners died in a collision between a motorcycle and a pick-up truck near the SK Ulu Segan junction, Jalan Ulu Sebauh here last Sunday (July 10).
According to a statement from Bintulu OCPD Supt Batholomew Umpit, the accident happened around 6.20pm. Both vehicles were travelling in opposite directions.
The pick-up truck was travelling from Ulu Sebauh to the town centre, and had collided with the motorcycle ridden by the two victims.
One of the victims was pronounced dead at the scene while the other was pronounced dead around 7.20pm while receiving treatment at Bintulu Hospital. The pick-up truck driver escaped unscathed.
“The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
“Anyone who witnessed the accident is advised to contact investigating officer Insp Lydia Allan at 010-9007791,” said Supt Batholomew.
