KUCHING: Legendary Manchester United (MU) footballer, Dwight Yorke was in the city recently to attend the 5th Anniversary Gala Dinner of the Manchester United Supporters Club (MUSC) Sarawak.
The dinner was held to celebrate the 6th anniversary of United Malaysia, which has been rapidly growing with an impressive number of new members joining each year.
Accompanying Dwight Yorke at the dinner held at Riverside Hotel here on Friday was the Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier’s Department (Corporate Affairs, Information & UKAS), Datuk Abdullah Saidol.
Also present to enliven the event were Tupong assemblyman Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman and the President of MUSC Sarawak Datuk Dzulkarnaen Ahmad.
In his speech, Fazzrudin extended a warm welcome to Yorke on his visit to Sarawak and expressed his appreciation for Yorke’s willingness to accept MUSC’s invitation.
At the same time, he praised the cooperation and unity shown by all the Manchester United clubs, noting that everyone present shared the same passion for football.
