SIBU: Dato Andrew Wong Kee Yew, the former deputy chairman of Sibu Municipal Council and son of the Second Finance Minister Datuk Seri Wong Soon Koh, passed away last night.
Sibu police chief ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit confirmed the death, saying it occurred at 9pm, when Andrew was found lying unconscious on the floor of his bedroom.
A team of medic from the Sibu Hospital, despatched to his house confirmed his death.
As at press time, there was no confirmation on the cause of his death.
Stanley said police are still waiting for the post mortem to confirm the cause of Andrew’s death.
Wong was married with two children. He was 42.
