KUCHING: A local proverb states, “The chicken’s luck can be seen in the leg, the human luck no one knows,” a saying that aptly captures the fortune of a young girl who emerged victorious in a lucky draw during the opening ceremony of SUKMA 2024 on August 17.
Samuel Simon, the Director of the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS) representing the Organizing Committee of SUKMA XXI Sarawak 2024, emphasized that the lucky draw was a gesture of appreciation towards the people of Sarawak and other attendees.
It highlighted the support and dedication of those who braved the rain and heat to ensure the success of SUKMA XXI Sarawak 2024.
Simon mentioned that the prize of a Perodua Aruz car was especially enticing for participants in the lucky draw. He made these remarks while speaking with reporters following the presentation of the grand prize at the Vendoria Perodua service centre in Kuching on Saturday.
The Perodua Aruz car, the main lucky draw prize, was won by Ain Mardhiah Hirizuan, a five-year-old.
Beyond the athletes, SUKMA XXI Sarawak 2024, which concludes today, also extended its gratitude to the supporters and sports enthusiasts present during the opening ceremony on August 17 through the lucky draw segment.
The lucky draw initiative, spearheaded by the Sarawak government, aimed to acknowledge the sports fans and supporters of the state.
