PADAWAN: Besides promoting the traditions, culture, heritage and cuisines of the Bidayuh community, the Bidayuh Mystique Festival also helps in fostering unity among various races.

In saying this, Federal Deputy Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Dr Santhara J.P said that this festival highlighted the unique culture and heritage of the Bidayuh that should be preserved and maintained.

According to Dr Santhara, this programme helped promote understanding and harmony of cultural diversity among the races in the community.

“This point of commonality can come in various aspects of religion, ethnicity and culture that can be enjoyed together,” he said in his speech during the Bidayuh Mystique Festival 2022 held at St Paul Bunuk Parish Hall, Saturday (July 30).

Dr Shantara also called upon other ethnic associations to follow in the footsteps of the Segu Bunuk Penrissen Association (PSBP) in organising similar events.

He said it was also an effort to preserve and promote the traditions, heritage and unique culture of each race.
