KUCHING: Four houses in Kampung Simboh were inundated by floodwaters following non-stop rainfall since early this morning (Feb 1).
However, the water levels in the village have receded and the situation return to normal.
The Civil Defence Force (APM) Kuching deployed a four-man team to flood-prone areas to monitor the water levels following continuous downpour yesterday.
Among the locations monitored were Kampung Simboh, Kampung Sikog, Kampung Punau, Kampung Sungai Batu, Tabuan Dayak and Kampung Sinar Budi Baru.
The team also monitored the water levels at the Batu Kitang Jaya barrage and found it to be normal and under control.
Throughout the patrol, the team confirmed that there are water overflowing from the drain, which was due to the drainage problem and irregular water flow.
Despite this, all roads in the monitored areas remain accessible to vehicles and the water levels are steadily receding.
No evacuation of flood victims was carried out.
