BAU: Four men were arrested after testing positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine.
Bau district police chief DSP Poge Nyaon said the four unemployed men from Kampung Sebobok here are aged between 18 and 30.
He said they were detained by a team of personnel from the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (NCID) of Bau District Police Headquarters during Ops Tapis by the roadside at Kampung Sebobok around 3.30pm on Wednesday (Jan 27).
Poge added that background checks found that all of them do not have any previous criminal record.
“The suspects were arrested under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 and can be fined for not more than RM5,000 or jailed for not more than two years and subjected to supervision for a period of not less than two years and not more than three years in accordance with Section 38B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 if convicted,” he added.
