BAU: A team of personnel from the Bau Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (NCID), yesterday (Feb 4), arrested four men for involvement in drug-related activities.
Bau district police chief DSP Poge Nyaon said the team came across a vehicle driven in a suspicious manner at Taman Mutiara here at 8.45am this morning (Feb 4).
He said further examination found four men, aged between 22 and 42 years old, trying to flee the scene after being stopped.
“Further inspection of the car led to the discovery of two transparent plastic packets containing crystallised substances believed to be drugs, weighing 2.22 grams and valued at about RM250,” he said today.
He said that the suspects were later taken to NCID Bau district police headquarters to undergo urine tests.
“The results of the initial urine test found that all the suspects were positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine,” he said.
Poge added that the case is being investigated under Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 which carries a fine of up to RM100,000 or a maximum of five years’ jail, or both upon conviction.
