KUCHING: Sarawak recorded four new Covid-19 fatalities today (June 7), bringing the state’s death toll to 326.
Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said the 323rd death involved a 63-year-old man who was brought in dead (BID) to Sri Aman Hospital.
The case was confirmed Covid-19 positive on June 4. He had diabetes.
“Meanwhile, the 324th death involved a 72-year-old man who died in Kapit Hospital.
“The case was confirmed Covid-19 positive on June 2. He suffered from kidney disease (final stage) and high blood pressure.
“For the 325th death, it involved a 62-year-old woman who passed away in Sibu Hospital.
“She was confirmed Covid-19 positive on May 21. The case had high blood pressure and dyslipidemia,” the committee said in a brief summary.
As for the 326th death, it involved a 50-year-old man who died in Miri Hospital.
The case was confirmed Covid-19 positive on May 27. He had diabetes, high blood pressure and chronic kidney disease.
In a separate update on Covid-19 zones, SDMC said Julau district turned from red zone to orange, after recording only 21 local infection cases in the last 14 days.
Meanwhile, Song district turned from orange zone to red, after recording a total of 80 local infection cases in the last 14 days.
There are now 28 red zone districts, four orange, eight yellow and zero green zone districts.
