SARIKEI: Four people managed to escape a fiery end after their car suddenly burst into flames along Jalan Sarikei-Bintangor on Monday (July 25).
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firefighters from Sarikei Bomba were despatched to the scene after receiving a distress call around 3.45pm.
The car was travelling from Sibu to Saratok, and it was completely engulfed in flames by the time firefighters arrived.
According to eyewitnesses, the fire started from the bottom rear of the car.
The operation ended around 4.20pm and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
