KUCHING: Four premises here and in Bau have been issued compound notices during an operation.

Food Safety and Quality Unit officer Sarhan Abdullah said in a statement today that the premises failed to implement the Food Security Assurance Programme.

Under Section 32B of the Food Act 1983, they were found breaching Food Hygiene Regulations 2009.

Meanwhile, Kuching Division Health officer Dr Eunice Melissa reminded school canteen operators to maintain the cleanliness of their canteens and dining halls.

“Good hygiene practices in food handling, including the cleanliness of food premises, will ensure the safe preparation of food.

“This is important to prevent food contamination and the occurrence of food poisoning.”
