SIBU: Four terrace houses in Rajang Park here were partially burnt during a fire incident today.
In the 1.20pm incident, thirteen residents were evacuated from their homes measuring 20×60 square feet.
Two houses were sixty five per cent burnt in the fire while one was fifteen per cent burnt and the other was ten per cent burnt, sources said.
Eighteen firefighters from the local Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) were despatched to the fire scene to extinguish the blaze and controlled it from spreading.
The team was led by Senior Fire Officer II Donny Sumping and Fire Officer Peter Jinang while Senior Fire Superintendent II Wan Kamaruddin Wan Ahmad (Zone 4 chief) was also present at the scene of the incident.
Other agencies and their personnel at the scene were the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM), Sarawak Energy Berhad (Sesco) and Malaysia Civil Defence Force (APM).
