KUCHING: Four stalls near a bakery at Lorong Matang Jaya 1, Jalan Matang, were destroyed in a fire here early yesterday.
According to State Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), nine personnel from Tabuan Jaya fire station,led by Senior Fire Officer II Kamri Bujang, rushed to the scene in a Fire Rescue Tender (FRT) machinery and an Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) vehicle after a distress call was received at 5.04am.
Upon arrival at the scene, about eight kilometres from the fire station, at 5.14am, the firefighters took about 30 minutes to douse the fire and prevented it from spreading to other nearby stalls.
No injuries or human casualties were reported and the operation ended at 5.57am.
