BINTULU: Bintulu Division Disaster Management Committee has identified four locations to be used as places to implement the Covid-19 immunisation programme in the division.

Among the locations are Universiti Putra Malaysia Bintulu Campus, Bintulu Development Authority Auditorium, Sebauh Community Hall as well as Tatau Sports Hall, said its chairman Jack Aman Luat.

“The first group to receive the Pfizer vaccine, which is expected to arrive on March 7, is frontliners including the Health Ministry staff, security personnel, Welfare Department, Civil Defence Force (APM) and the People’s Volunteer Corps (Rela).

“We will also form a mobile team that will provide information on this vaccine to villagers living in remote areas.

“It is possible that the flying doctor services will also be needed for this purpose,” he explained.

Jack, who is also the Bintulu Resident, added that a vaccine injection simulation will be held first in an effort to ensure that the immunisation programme runs smoothly.
