MIRI: Four women narrowly escaped disaster this afternoon when a tree came crashing down on their Perodua Axia along Jalan Merbau.
The incident happened around 12.10 pm in front of Mercure Hotel.
Firefighters from Miri central station was promptly dispatched to the scene, about 5km away, after receiving an emergency call.
Upon arrival, the team found that the driver and her three passengers had managed to exit the vehicle without injury, despite the tree landing directly on their car.
The team used a chainsaw to cut the fallen tree and cleared the road of debris before concluding the operation at 12.45 pm.
