Fourth day of DUN sitting runs smoothly

THE fourth day of the second session of the 19th Sarawak State Legislative Assembly (DUN) sitting yesterday (Nov 23) proceeded smoothly, commencing at 9 am.

The session began with a prayer in the DUN chambers.

DUN Speaker Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar also took the opportunity to congratulate Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Abang Openg on being conferred the distinguished Honorary Fellow Award by the ASEAN Federation of Engineering Organisations (AFEO).

The prestigious award was presented to the Premier during a ceremony in conjunction with the 41st Conference of the ASEAN Federation of Organisations of Engineers (CAFEO) in Bali on Wednesday.

The DUN sitting then proceeded with an hour of question-and-answer session followed by the debate on the second reading of the Supply (2024) Bill, 2023 and a move to refer to the resolution of the Development Expenditure Budget for 2024.

A total of 15 assemblymen participated in the debate.

The DUN sitting adjourned at 6.40 pm. It will resume today (Nov 24) – the fifth day of the sitting.
