KUCHING: With the conditional movement control order (CMCO) in full swing during the holy month of Ramadan, police and armed security personnel are working round the clock to make sure everyone stays home.

Thus, Derik Law, who sells Malaysians’ all-time favourite dessert — ABC (Ais Batu Campur) — at Lok-Lok, Jalan Ban Hock here, swung into action and donated the icy treat to personnel manning roadblocks at Jalan Stapok and in front of SJK Chung Hua No 6, Sungai Maong here on Tuesday night.

Derik said that the donation was a small gesture to thank the security personnel who work day and night throughout the CMCO period.

“Frontliners are at risk when carrying out their duties either at roadblocks or public places.

“This is our way of expressing support (to the frontliners) and keeping everyone in high spirits,” he said.
