KUCHING: A free health examination will be held at the Sungai Apong basketball court tomorrow at 8am.
The said examination is jointly held by Kelab Rekreasi Wanita Bersatu, Village Development and Security Committees (JKKK) Jalan Chawan; Pending Youth Section; Pending Women’s Section along with nine other JKKK (Jalan Foochow, Kampung Sungai Apong; Kawasan Kenyalang Park; Jalan Sg Apong Pending, Bintawa Fasa 1, Kampung Bintawa; Taman Riverview; Pending Height and Taman Three Hill).
According to preparatory committee chairlady Sim Bee Kim, the purpose of this physical examination is to raise the public’s awareness of their own health, especially for the B40 and the vulnerable groups.
“Many B40 and the vulnerable households have an income of less than RM4,000 and their economy has been affected by the epidemic, hence, such activities can reduce their burden,” she said.
According to her, all the medical examinations are free and tests on the day include physical examination, blood pressure testing, body mass index, body composition test, and more.
“Only blood and urine tests are available to B40 group and SOCSO contributors, aged 40 years old and above.
“Moreover, Deputy Premier Datuk Seri Prof Dr Sim Kui Hian and Kuching South City Council mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng are also invited on that day,” she said, adding that the testing time will start at 8am and ends at 1pm.
She called on the public to not miss the physical examination.
“I hope that the public will actively attend the free examination. Attendees will also get door gifts and free reading glasses.”
