LAWAS: Sarawak State Museum Department will be distributing free Sarawak Museum journals to secondary students throughout Sarawak.
This journal which was produced in 1881 is based on research by the second Rajah Brooke of Sarawak which published this journal every year from 1911 to present.
This is in line with the Sarawak State Museum Department ’s efforts to share journals and articles related to the local culture and history.
According to Director of the Sarawa k State Museum Department, Ipoi Datan, the journals were dist r ibuted i n Lawas district first, then followed by other districts in Sarawak.
The journals were handed to SMK Lawas received by its principal, Sawal Haji Pandin followed by SMK Merapok representatives, SMK Trusan and SMK Sundar.
Also present were Lawas District Administrative Officer, Joseph Surang, representative of District Education, Officer Ismail Bahrin, Assistant Officer of Sarawak Museum Archives, Hajah Shazwanna Haji Suhaili and senior officers of the Lawas District Education Office.
