KUCHING: Kuching City FC is set to offer free tickets to local football fans to mark the club’s first-ever home game in Malaysia’s top flight football.

Kuching City FC will make history as they host their first home game in the 2023 Malaysia Super League season against Selangor FC on March 2 at 8:15 pm.

In a press statement, Kuching City FC’s chairman Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman expressed his gratitude towards their fans for their unwavering support and announced that they will be giving away 13,000 free tickets for the game as a gesture of appreciation.

“1,500 grandstand (A&B sheltered area) and 11,500 openarea (A&B Open) tickets will be printed for the game.

“Members of the public can claim up to five tickets per person at the ticket counters located at the Stadium Negeri in Petra Jaya on Thursday, March 2, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.

“We invite all local football fans to come and support Kuching City FC in this historic match.

“We hope that the stadium will be packed with supporters on Thursday,” Fazzrudin said.

Fazzrudin added that their journey so far would not have been possible without the fans’ support.

“We hope to make you proud on the pitch on Thursday,” he said.

Winners of the free tickets from the CatsFM contest and those who have made online reservations for the match against Selangor can redeem their tickets for the match against Sabah FC on March 6 at 8:15 pm instead.

Attendees are reminded to arrive early and park their vehicles in designated parking areas.

Fans are also prohibited from bringing any prohibited items such as plastic bottles into the stadium.

This move by Kuching City FC is not only a great way to express their gratitude to their fans but also a smart strategy to increase their fan base and create a more vibrant football community in Sarawak.
