TATAU: Residents of Blok E Flat Pine under lockdown since May 22 received aid in the form of fresh vegetables from the Sarawak National Youth Organisation (Saberkas) Kakus branch today (May 26).
The assistance was contributed through ‘Program Saberkas Prihatin’, a welfare programme undertaken by all Saberkas branches with allocations given by the Saberkas Headquarters to the respective branches starting this year.
“The programme focuses on providing welfare assistance to the people in need such as those who are affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, natural disasters and fire incidents among others.
“There are 23 families or 77 people living in Block E who are under lockdown” it said.
Among the members of Saberkas Kakus branch present during the simple handover ceremony were chairman Mohammad Rizal Julaihi, deputy chairman Tan Mong Howe and secretary Hamzariah Hamdan.
