KUCHING: The rebranding of Sarawak Pay to S Pay Global along with its new logo will be released in the next version 3.0.

A statement issued by SiliconNet Technologies Sdn Bhd, the operator of Sarawak Pay on behalf of the state government, said that the change was in line with the announcement made by the Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg to reinforce the branding and presence of Sarawak Pay on the global stage during the launching of the Sarawak Pay international payment with UnionPay.

“This change is also in line with our growing business as we extend beyond payments of bills and retail transactions to include other financial services such as loans repayment, insurance donations, and many more.

“All these will be featured in our next User App release version 3.0, under a new segment called Lifestyle in which new features will be added gradually in future releases,” it added.

SiliconNet revealed that with the aim to offer greater cashless convenience and better experience to its users, it had also streamlined its Sarawak Pay User App Home Screen and its User Profile/Account Setting.

It assured its users and merchants that the balance and the payment history as well as the login username and password in the Sarawak Pay were still intact and the same despite the switch over.

“All the existing Sarawak Pay merchant QR codes that we have issued will function as usual and as per normal as there will be no change in our QR code when we switch over.

“However, in the weeks to come, newly registered merchants will be issued our new w POSM (point of sale materials) stickers and printed QR Code with the new S PAY GLOBAL logo. In the meantime, we will also gradually replace the old POSM with the new ones,” it clarified.

SiliconNet also disclosed that it had also renamed its Sarawak Pay website to http://spayglobal.my and was changing all of its email communications to its new domain name @spayglobal.my.
