KUCHING: A total of 12,000 ‘Sumbangsih Raya 2023’ boxes containing various goodies will be distributed to the frontliners in conjunction with the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration.
Minister of Women, Early Childhood, and Community Wellbeing Development Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah said these ‘boxes of love’ are a token of appreciation for the frontliners’ sacrifices.
The boxes will be distributed to 11 different agencies that look after the safety and sovereignty of the state and the country.
The 11 agencies which will be receiving the boxes are Angkatan Tentera Malaysia (ATM); Polis DiRaja Malaysia (PDRM); Agensi Penguatkuasaan Maritim Malaysia (APMM); State Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba); Jabatan Penjara Malaysia (JPM); Jabatan Imigresen Malaysia (JIM); Jabatan Kastam DiRaja Malaysia (JKDRM); Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan (JPJ); Angkatan Pertahanan Awam Malaysia (APM); Jabatan Sukarelawan Malaysia (RELA) and Unit Keselamatan dan Penguatkuasaan Sarawak (UKPS).
“This is one of the ministry’s annual programmes in which last year we distributed 11,500 boxes. These boxes will be received by the various agencies’ personnel who are on duty during the Hari Raya celebration,” she said during the Sumbangsih Raya 2023 symbolic packaging ceremony at Wisma Wanita here today.
The minister said Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg will officiate at the handover ceremony on April 14.
Touching on the programme, Fatimah said it is an important annual tradition as it is in appreciation of the various agencies as strategic partners.
“These agencies are very close to us and we must work together on various matters. As such, it is important for us to show our appreciation and gratitude towards them,” she added.
