KUCHING: The strategic partnership between the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) and the Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women and Family Development Ministry has resulted in the speedy investigation of crimes against women and children, bringing the perpetrators to justice.
Its minister Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah says she hopes the police will continue to engage with the ministry to stop domestic and sexual violence against women and children.
“I hope through this engagement, cyber crimes targeted against women and children such as scamming, online gambling, cyber bullying, crimes including drug and substance abuse, and crime against property will be reduced,” she said in a statement yesterday.
Fatimah, who is also the Sarawak Women and Family Council chairman, said her ministry had been working closely with the police since four years ago.
In conjunction with the 212th Police Day yesterday, Fatimah also took the opportunity to thank all police personnel throughout Sarawak for their sacrifice, vigilance and effective policing in maintaining law and order, ensuring peace and harmony, and defending Sarawak’s sovereignty.
“We pray to God that the police personnel are granted with good health and safety as they continue their duties.”
