MUKAH: Frontliners at Dewan Suarah Mesra Mukah immunisation centre (PPV) here received fruits as a token of appreciation for their relentless work during the pandemic.

Mukah Division Agricuture Department and Mukah Area Farmers Organisation (PPK) contributed rambutans, pineapples and corns, which were bought from local farmers.

Mukah Division agriculture officer Mallisa Bonaventure Lutong said it was a continuation from the last programme where they bought the excess supply of pineapples from farmers in Dalat.

“We also contribute the fruits to personnel manning the roadblock here,” she said at the Peladang Perihatin Sarawak programme at Dewan Suarah Mesra here on Thursday (Aug 26). Tellian assemblyman Yussibnosh Balo officiated at the event.

According to her, the programme was organised statewide as a simple gesture to thank all the frontliners involved in helping to contain the Covid-19 infection.

She revealed that during the movement control order last year, the department was also involved in a related programme.
