KUCHING: A new history for FT Warrez after they successfully made it to the final of Kampung Plaman Bantang Gold Cup football championship, in Serian
The event was organised by the Youth Association of Kampung Bantang, Serian.
The squad under the guidance of Tuan Dulhameed and John Edmund defeated the representatives of Serian, Bung Abut FC with 4-2 in the semi-final held at the football field of Kampung Bantang, Serian on Sunday.
Experienced former Sarawak striker, Zamri Morshidi was the hero of FT Warrez after scoring two goals in the 10th and 69th minutes.
“Congratulations to all the players for being able to ensure the victory belonged to FT Warrez to enable us to reach the final,” said team manager, Tuan Dulhameed when commenting on the victory.
He added that he was impressed by the fighting spirit and the performance shown by all the players playing at the opponents’ home.
“All the players performed according to the coach’s plan during the 70 minutes of the game,” he said.
For the record, this is the second time for FT Warrez team from Kuching to qualify for the final this year.
FT Warrez will play against KRM Junior FC which also is a team from Serian in the final , on May 14 (Sunday) at 1:30pm at the football field of Kampung Bantang.
The closing ceremony and prize presentation of the tournament will be officiated by Minister of Human Resources, Dato ‘Sri Richard Riot Anak Jaem, who is also Serian Member of Parliament at 3:00pm.
