LIMBANG: Fifty-six villages, including longhouses in the Bukit Kota constituency here are expected to enjoy full basic facilities by the end of 2025.

Deputy Minister of Food Industry, Commodity, and Regional Development Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Ismail said this is following the Sarawak government’s continuous focus to provide development to the people.

“Limbang would also experience progress through the implementation of various projects and initiatives to ensure sustained development in the respective areas,” he said.

He said this during a working visit to seven project areas under the Bukit Kota Rural Transformation Programme (RTP).

The seven projects visited were the Pengkalan Rejab Village Hall, Kelapa Mawar Village Hall, Buangabai Village Hall, Mengatai Village Hall, Ulak Village Hall, Binjai Village Futsal Court, and Telahak Village Hall.

Dr Abdul Rahman, who is also the Bukit Kota assemblyman then said he was very pleased with the progress of all these projects, some of which have been completed while others are still under construction.

“Most of the projects we visited today are RTP projects, but some involve People-Friendly Projects (PMR), and Member of Parliament Projects.

“There are also direct departmental projects such as the Drainage and Irrigation Department (DID) and others,” he said.

He reiterated that most of them are indeed RTP projects because the constituencies are allocated with RM5 million to carry out the RTP projects.
