KUCHING: Kuching FA assistant coach, Shahrizan Sahari stressed that the full list of players for the Kuching FA squad for the FAM Cup 2018 campaign will be known on the first week of next month (December).
According to Shahrizan, his association is still in the final process of evaluating players who have passed the final stages of training sessions. “Presently, there are still 30 players who remain in the training session or last selection.
“We are still in the process of assessing their actual capabilities, and it is likely that a full list of 25 players will be available in the first week of December,” said Shahrizan recently. Shahrizan also pointed out that two playmaker brothers who assisted Bintulu’s squad to qualify into the final of Sarawak Cup 2017 – Sahran Abdul Samad and Samsu Alam Abdul Samad – are also among those who remain in the final assessment session.
On the selection of players, Shahrizan added that players from nearby divisions are also being selected. The players selection sessions last week also included last season’s players.
“We do not provide automatic players slots for this season, therefore they must compete to claim berths in the 2018 season,” said Shahrizan.
