KUCHING: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Pantai Damai Branch pledged its full support to the Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg to continue administer Sarawak.

PBB vice president Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi said the support was based on the various initiatives introduced by Abang Johari since he assumed office three years ago.

The Pantai Damai assemblyman said similar support was also given to senior leadership of the Sarawak government which has contributed a lot to the state.

“We will work hard to ensure that the PBB will continue to be the backbone of the Sarawak government.

“We support the efforts of the chief minister in bringing progress to Sarawak,” he said at the PBB Pantai Damai committee meeting on Saturday.

Dr Abdul Rahman, who is also Assistant Minister of Utilities (Water Supply), explained that the initiative introduced by Abang Johari was to ensure that Sarawak’s progress was comparable to that of other states.

“We sincerely hope that Sarawak’s dream of becoming the most advanced state in Malaysia by 2030 can be realised through this initiative,” he said.

Meanwhile, Dr Abdul Rahman said PBB Pantai Damai branch was fully prepared for the upcoming state election.

“We are in active mode. When it comes to PRN12 or 15th general election (GE15), we are always prepared because the machinery has experience in critical situations,” said Dr Abdul Rahman.

According to him, the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) coalition has no problem in facing the coming election.

“The issue of GPS logo is not a problem as the public has been aware of this political entity for the past two years.

“We are also disseminating information about GPS through social media and the response has been overwhelming,” he added.
