The financial allocation must be distributed to Kuching North City Commission (DBKU) and Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) for projects to be developed, urged Tupong assemblyman Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman.
He said that financial assistance must be allocated to DBKU and MPP, and if these organisations are solely dependent on their funds, it would not be enough to develop more infrastructure projects.
“By having an added special fund for these projects then the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) funds do not need to be used.
“Flood barrier projects are also a priority in areas such as Tupong, Pinang Jawa and Taman Sejoli still facing flood issues,” he said
He said this in his debate speech for the Supply Bill (2023) 2022 during the fourth day of the 19th State Legislative Assembly (DUN) sitting yesterday.
Meanwhile, Fazzrudin also suggested for more housing development programmes to be added and introduced to overcome the increasing population.
“Because of the opening of industrial sectors and developing infrastructures, there are more job opportunities now.
“There is a need for more houses to be built either in the bigger cities or rural towns,” he said.
